The US is the center of the world’s third-party litigation finance (TPLF) industry, in which investors such as hedge funds and family offices finance legal action against companies.      This trend is a contributor to social inflation with the encouragement to consumers to file and prolong lawsuits.  This increases the costs of insurance premiums, reduces the amount of available covers, and leads to higher uninsured legal liability.
