Mediation is widely used across many areas of dispute resolution, yet it appears to remain relatively underutilized in reinsurance. This session will explore whether that perception holds true, examine why mediation has struggled to gain traction in reinsurance, and consider practical ways it could be used more effectively, particularly to resolve lowervalue disputes where arbitration may not be cost-efficient.
