This webinar addresses various COVID-19 issues arising under property insurance and liability insurance policies. In particular, the panel discusses Business Interruption, Civil Authority, and Contingent Liability coverages under typical commercial property policies. Topics include the impact of virus exclusions that may exist in particular policies. The panelists summarize the claims asserted by policyholders in litigation throughout the US as well as insurer responses. In addition, the program reviews state and federal legislative proposals as well as executive and regulatory orders concerning coverage for COVID-19 business interruption losses. As part of this discussion, the webinar addresses potential constitutional issues presented by certain of the proposed legislation.
