AIRROC presented a half-day virtual Workshop focusing on IBT's (Insurance Business Transfers). In the third quarter of 2020, the first much-anticipated transaction under the Oklahoma IBT law was completed. The second is in process. This event brought speakers from the regulatory, business, and supporting counsel perspectives to discuss the landscape, hear from differing views, and take a look at what we have learned from the first completed transaction.

Three sessions dove into the background on the states that have enacted IBT or Division statutes and the differences/similarities between them, hear from the regulators that are “for” the statutes and some that are “against” and get updates on the NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners) activities.  The last session looks at the business perspective and reviewed how the first transaction worked, lessons learned, and a look at what is next.

The event ended with a 30 minute “Super Panel” question and answer session with all panelists.
